Islam has certain distinguished traits. One can easily make out what is Islam and what is not based on availability or non-availability of these attributes. Some of these characteristic features are described in brief in the following paragraphs.

1. UNAMBIGUOUS ARTICLES OF FAITH

 Islamic faiths are clear, simple and have no confusion. Articles of faith including unity of Allah with His traits, Prophet-hood with finality with Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be to him), series of Divine books closing on the Holy Qur’an and accountability of every human being severally before the Almighty Lord on the day of judgement and consequent reward or punishment hereafter have all been unambiguously described leaving no scope of confusion.

2. EASE OF UNDERSTANDING AND PRACTICE

Islam is called religion of ease (یسیر). This is a feature which Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be to him) described. This implies basically two features. 

i) It can be communicated to and understood by each and every human-being belonging to any age-group, region, gender or educational level. A simple description in the language spoken by the person would be enough to convey the message of Islam.

ii) It can be practiced by everyone in all conditions.
